Seahawks DE Damontre' Moore suspended six games

ESPN's Brady Henderson reported on Monday afternoon that Seattle Seahawks veteran defensive end Damontre' Moore has been suspended six games by the NFL for an alleged violation of the league's rules regarding performance-enhancing substances.

The 28-year-old was hit with a two-game ban in 2017 after he violated the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

Moore will be unavailable for games against the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, and New York Jets. He is eligible to return for Seattle's Week 15 showdown with the Washington Football Team on Dec. 20.

Per Henderson, Moore averaged slightly over 24 defensive snaps with Seattle until Monday's news. He has tallied a sack, a forced fumble, and eight total tackles this year.

Moore's departure from the lineup coincides with the Seahawks acquiring Carlos Dunlap from the Cincinnati Bengals in a trade last week. Dunlap fell out of favor and saw his playing time diminish during his final days with the Bengals and pushed for a move ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. He has only a single sack and 18 total tackles on the year.

Because of the league's protocols for conducting the season amid the coronavirus pandemic, Dunlap was unavailable for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Barring a setback, the 31-year-old should be good to go for this Sunday's contest at the Bills.
