After fighting through the same shoulder injury during his NFL debut in Week 1, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Mike Morris was ruled out for Sunday's Week 2 showing against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

The fifth-round pick out of Michigan has been dealing with the ailment since August. Reports from RotoWire indicate the injury just went from general soreness on Aug. 16, to requiring surgery on Aug. 22.

Despite being slowed down by the injury in Week 1, he was still able to rack up three tackles in the 30-13 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. With Morris out of the picture for the Lions game, the Seahawks will likely rely on Myles Adams to fill the void.

Joining Morris in missing the game are safety Jamal Adams, linebackers Boye Mafe and Devin Bush. On offense, offensive tackles Abraham Lucas and Charles Cross are also out for Seattle.

The Seattle defense had a tough showing against the Rams, especially in the second half, where it gave up 23 unanswered points. Seattle had major issues in slowing down the young receiver duo comprised of Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell.

According to ESPN, the Lions are coming into the game as 4.5-point favorites over the Seahawks with the "matchup predictor" giving the Lions a 64.7 percent chance of winning the game.

The Lions were able to take advantage of Travis Kelce and Chris Jones-less Cheifs in Week 1, beating the defending Super Bowl champions by a score of 21-20.

The Seahawks' chance at a bounce-back win on the road in Week 2 certainly won't come easy, especially considering all the injury problems.
