Seahawks QB Russell Wilson: Finger isn't to blame for loss
It wasn't a good day at the office for Russell Wilson as he struggled in his first game in five weeks after having finger surgery on his throwing hand.
But the Seahawks signal-caller didn't blame his finger for his atypically bad game in Sunday's 17-0 loss at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.
"My finger felt fine," Wilson told the media post-game, via ESPN. "The problem with tonight was I had two bad plays. That's what it really was."
Wilson ended the day completing just 20-of-40 passes for 161 yards and two interceptions. The performance aided in Seattle being shut out for the first time since 2011 and the first in Wilson's career.
Wilson took the blame for the two interceptions, saying those were the difference in the game.
"Like I said, 100-percent accountability on myself that that happened. Nobody else's fault," he said.
This isn't to say the Packers played a perfect game, either. Seattle's defense was able to hold Green Bay to a 3-0 lead through three quarters of play, with running back A.J. Dillon not rushing both of the Packers' touchdowns until late in the game.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers, playing his first game after testing positive for COVID-19, ended the day completing 23-of-37 passes for 292 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
