Seahawks WR Josh Gordon indefinitely suspended once again

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon, who flashed Hall of Fame talent and made the AFC Pro Bowl squad in 2013, may be finished as an active NFL player.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on Friday afternoon that the NFL has rescinded Gordon's conditional reinstatement. As a result, the 29-year-old is again indefinitely suspended.

The Seahawks were eliminated from the playoffs by the Los Angeles Rams last Saturday.

Gordon, who has been handed multiple suspensions for violations of the league's drug-related policies since the Cleveland Browns acquired him in the 2012 Supplemental Draft, received a conditional reinstatement from his latest ban in early December and hoped to return to Seattle's lineup for the Week 16 game against the Rams. However, Pelissero reported on Dec. 22 that Gordon had suffered a setback in his ongoing battle with substance-abuse issues. That made him unavailable through Seattle's postseason defeat.

Gordon hasn't played a competitive down since he spent time with the New England Patriots and Seahawks during the 2019 campaign. While with the Browns in 2013, he recorded 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns.

Gordon tweeted shortly after Pelissero's report went public on Friday:
