After an impressive win in Week 3, the Seattle Seahawks head to New York to face a spiraling Giants squad whose season is already on the brink. ... but the Seahawks will do it with a last-minute change.

Ahead of their Monday Night Football matchup, special-teams captain Nick Bellore has been scratched ... for a lovely reason: He is heading out of New Jersey and back to Seattle due to the birth of his child. So he does what he must ... and now the Seahawks try to do the same.

The 2-1 Seahawks still have eyes on an NFC West crown after three weeks with wins over the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers after an opening-day loss to the rival Los Angeles Rams. Newly paid quarterback Geno Smith is showing signs of last season when he earned the NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Through the first three games, Smith has registered 736 yards with four touchdowns to one interception while completing just shy of 70 percent of his passes.

On the other side, the Giants had hopes of a return trip to the playoffs after an unexpected run in 2022 under first-year head coach Brian Daboll. New York went 9-7-1 and earned a Wild Card spot and a first-round win over the Vikings.

But quarterback Daniel Jones has regressed a bit after signing a big contract in the offseason. Jones has thrown just two touchdowns this season with four interceptions.

While Smith continues to progress, the running game is emerging as the identity of the team. A big part of the Seahawks' 37-27 win over the Panthers was running back Kenneth Walker III, who, along with fellow back Zach Charbonnet, combined for 143 rushing yards. That rushing performance garnered Walker nationwide recognition as the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 3.

The Giants, meanwhile, are searching for answers at 1-2 and already losing ground in a competitive NFC East. Both Seattle and New York are hoping to find solid ground to close out the first month of the season.
