Could a Seahawks-Josh Gordon reunion be in the cards? Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks want WR Josh Gordon back?

The Seattle Seahawks may be able to re-sign troubled wide receiver Josh Gordon before the end of the month, according to NFL insider John Clayton.

On Wednesday, Clayton reported that Gordon, who applied for NFL reinstatement in June following his latest ban for violations of the league's drugs and performance-enhancing substances policies, could learn of his fate "in the next week or two." Clayton added the Seahawks will try to sign Gordon if the 29-year-old is cleared to play for the 2020 campaign.

Gordon featured for both the New England Patriots and Seahawks last year until he received the fifth drugs-related suspension of his NFL career in December. Adam Kenner, Gordon's lawyer, told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero in June that the receiver suffered a relapse following the death of his brother.

Gordon has hinted on Instagram that he'd welcome a return to Seattle:

In five games with the Seahawks, Gordon, a 2013 First-Team All-Pro, accumulated seven catches with 139 receiving yards and zero touchdowns.
