After a year with the Rams, Bobby Wagner returned to Seattle on a one-year contract in 2023. That decision proved to be a wise one, as the linebacker put up another strong season. While he’s not the player he once was, he still made the Pro Bowl while recording 3.5 sacks, a league-best 183 tackles, 11 tackles-for-loss, and six quarterback hits in 17 games.

Bobby Wagner originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Selected by the Seattle Seahawks, the Utah State product immediately stood out from his peers. Appearing in 16 games while making 15 starts, the rookie finished his inaugural season with 140 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, five quarterback hits, and two sacks. Headlining one of the best draft classes in recent memory, Wagner helped guide this team to the NFC Divisional Round as a rookie.

The following season, Wagner helped his team reach immortality. Leading a ferocious defense with elite playmakers on all three levels of the defense, Wagner finished the season with five sacks, 120 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and six quarterback hits in 14 games. Seattle themselves won the Super Bowl in a blowout victory over the Denver Broncos.

While the Seahawks wouldn’t win another Super Bowl with Bobby Wagner, the linebacker continued to establish himself as a Hall of Fame talent. The former second-round pick made the Pro Bowl in nine of the next 10 seasons and earned First-Team All-Pro honors six times in a seven-year stretch from 2014 to 2020.

Since signing his rookie contract, Bobby Wagner has appeared in 185 games while making 183 starts. While on the field, the Utah State product has recorded 33 sacks, 1,706 tackles, 89 tackles-for-loss, and 94 quarterback hits.
