Skip Bayless makes stunning accusation about Chiefs All-Pro DT amid holdout

Skip Bayless torched Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones during Friday's episode of "Undisputed" on FS1, calling out his decision to watch the team's Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium.

Bayless added that he believed the All-Pro defensive tackle may not have been "unhappy" watching his team as they were upset by quarterback Jared Goff and company, hinting that the defeat will help him during his ongoing contract dispute.

Jones and the Chiefs have been at an impasse over a possible contract extension for months now.

It was reported shortly before kickoff to Thursday night's game that the four-time Pro Bowler hadn't talked with the team for a "week and a half."

Jones has said multiple times this summer that he's willing to sit out until Week 8, as he attempts to leverage his way toward a deal that would make him the highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL. Los Angeles Rams stud Aaron Donald currently holds that distinction, as he earns an average annual salary of $31.6M.

Nate Taylor of The Athletic reported in August that the former second-round pick is seeking an extension to pay him an average annual salary of $30M.

Jones is currently bringing in the seventh-most money among all defensive tackles at $20M.

The Mississippi State product had a career year in 2022, not only making his fourth straight Pro Bowl and earning First-Team All-Pro honors for the first time but also leading all defensive tackles with 15.5 sacks.
