The Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams are slated to open up their new Southern California stadium later in the summer.

In fact, the Rams started to sell individual game tickets for the preseason starting with their opener against the New Orleans Saints.

Whether the games actually take place remains to be seen. While the NFL firmly believes the 2020 season will start on time, there’s a lot of open questions.

As it relates to SoFi Stadium in Southern California, those questions have been widespread due to continuing issues surrounding the ongoing global pandemic.

Either way, the stadium still looks amazing. Check it out.

This is what a near $5 billion stadium and surrounding development will get you in today’s society.

We can argue until we’re blue in the face whether that type of financial commitment makes sense. We can’t argue about how beautiful the next great North American sports venue looks mere months before it’s slated to open.

However, there are some ongoing concerns over the viability of NFL games actually being played in Inglewood, the home of the new multi-billion dollar venue.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has in the past indicated that fans won’t be in attendance for sporting events through the end of December in his state. Whether the recent relaxation of stay-at-home orders in California changes the dynamic here remains to be seen.

As of right now, it’s hard to imagine any sporting venue being at full capacity until there’s a vaccine for the COVID-19 virus. That’s a major backdrop as the Rams and Chargers look to open their new venue.

It’s going to be intriguing to see this situation play out as the NFL season approaches. That’s also true for the Las Vegas Raiders as they look to open up Allegiant Stadium in August.
