Cincinnati Bengals rookie receiver Ja’Marr Chase couldn’t seem to catch the football during the preseason.

That had fans on Twitter all over the team for taking him with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

But Chase has since recovered and has brought his LSU connection with Joe Burrow to the NFL.

He is already at 553 yards and five touchdowns on only 27 receptions so far through six weeks.

His big-play ability with Burrow is evident and the stats back up just how dynamic the duo has been.

Chase is racking up yards on limited catches and the fact he has four touchdowns that traveled over 30 yards in the air proves Burrow finally has his number one wideout in Cincinnati.

Both Players Heating Up

The Bengals are 4-2 on the year and both losses came by a total of three points,

So the Bengals are realistically close to being undefeated this season.

Chase’s biggest game of the year actually came in a loss back in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers.

He finished with six catches for 159 yards, which is just an absurd total.

Burrow had a total of 281 passing yards in the game, showing just how reliant he was on his former LSU teammate.

This may just be the recipe for success for the Bengals this season.

Having Joe Mixon near the top of the NFL leaderboard in rushing yards means defenses can’t just sit back and wait for Chase to break open a big play.

Attention must be paid on Mixon, thus adding a perfect balance to this Cincinnati offense.

Yet one or two times a game, opposing defenses can expect Burrow to launch a ball up for Chase 30 or more yards down the field.

And while a defense can prepare for that, sometimes a player is too good to stop.
