The Pittsburgh Steelers are sending quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles after reports claim the third-year passer didn't handle the signing of Russell Wilson well.
The Steelers are sending Pickett and a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to Philadelphia in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and two seventh-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The news came as somewhat of a surprise to many, but not one Pittsburgh radio host. 105.9 The X's Mark Madden discovered the news during his radio show and made sure to voice his thoughts on Pickett both on air and on social media.
"Small hands, big ego, no balls. Farewell to a gutless coward who’s running away from failure to hide across the state," Madden wrote on X. "Anybody doubt that Seattle story now? BIG ***KING BABY. Arrogant w/o accomplishment. I was right all along. HAW, HAW, HAW, HAW! I accept your apologies."
For context, Madden claimed during the season that Pickett refused to dress as the backup once Mason Rudolph took over and he was healthy again. Pickett denied those reports to the media, but according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac, they may have been true.
The Steelers are now moving forward with Russell Wilson as their only quarterback on the roster. They'll look at both free agency and the NFL Draft to add two more before OTAs and mini camp.
