PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi is active for the team’s 2023 season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday.

Ogunjobi was limited in practice all week with a right foot issue, and was officially listed as questionable to play against the 49ers on Friday.

It’s not clear if Ogunjobi will be able to play his usual amount of reps, but he played almost the entire 2022 season without being a full participant in practice, so not suiting up in rehearsals this week should not greatly impact his performance.

The Steelers feel good enough about Ogunjobi’s readiness that they made defensive tackle Armon Watts a health scratch for the game.

If he is indeed limited, DeMarvin Leal will likely be the player that sees the biggest jump in role, particularly at defensive end in the base defense. Montravius Adams, Keeanu Benton and Isaiahh Loudermilk are also available for increased roles.

Cam Heyward was the only other Steelers player that was limited in practice this week. He does not have an injury designation and will play.
