After Cam Heyward posted a selfie from his hospital bed around a month ago, many were taken aback.
Quickly learning it was a "clean up" surgery from the groin injury that left him sidelined for over six weeks in 2023, fans and followers took a collective sigh of relief.
And after an update from Mike Tomlin, the light for Heyward's week one return is green:

“I’m not anticipating it to be a factor by the time we get to training camp,” HC Mike Tomlin said when asked about the status of Heyward's groin at the league owners' meetings in Orlando this week.
Heyward suffered the injury during Week 1 of the 2023 season, undergoing groin surgery and missing over six weeks with rest and rehab before returning. And while his return was notable for the Steelers' run defense, he wasn't allocating the typical amount of sacks and pressures fans were accustomed to seeing.
But as Heyward would go on to point out on his podcast after the season, he was playing on one leg for the majority of the season even after his rehab, and said that he aimed to get back to his dominant self in 2024.
And with Mike Tomlin didaplaying full confidence that Heyward will have no limitations come camp, the soon to be 35-year-old will look to get back to his Pro Bowl ways as Pittsburgh goes all in on a deep playoff run come the fall.
