Steelers OLB T.J. Watt suffers groin injury against Raiders
Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt suffered a groin injury during Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders and did not return.
The 26-year-old recorded four tackles and a sack before exiting.
Watt has emerged as one of the NFL's best edge rushers since being selected in the first round of the 2017 draft. Last season, he recorded a career-high 15 sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, seven passes defensed, 53 tackles, 23 tackles for a loss and 41 quarterback hits.
The Steelers rewarded Watt with a five-year, $112 million contract earlier this month, making him the NFL's highest-paid defensive player.
During a Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills, Watt recorded two sacks, three tackles, one tackle for a loss, five quarterback hits and a forced fumble.
If Watt misses an extended period of time, Melvin Ingram III and Jamir Jones will see more playing time in the coming weeks.
