Tight end Connor Heyward and wide receiver Allen Robinson II were two of the six Pittsburgh Steelers who did not practice in the first session of the week on Wednesday as the Steelers began their preparations for their Week 4 game against the Houston Texans.

Thursday, both were back on the field, with Heyward and Robinson taking part in a ball security drill with the rest of the backs and receivers and seemingly cutting without issue. The Steelers listed both players with ankle injuries on Wednesday.

Also in that ball security line was cornerback Desmond King, who stands out in his gold practice jersey. That could be a sign that while Gunner Olszewski has been cleared from the concussion protocol, King could retain the kickoff return duties that he assumed in Week 3 with Olszewski out.

Elsewhere, Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett practiced throwing on the move after saying on Wednesday he felt that was a big part of his strong Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Robinson was one of three players that head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that he expected to be limited in the early part of the week. Heyward was something of a surprise absence on Wednesday. Neither player suffered any obvious injury during the Week 3 game at Las Vegas.
