Pittsburgh Steelers star edge rusher T.J. Watt is coming off yet another banner season, one that saw him lead the NFL in tackles for loss (23) and sacks (15.0).
Unfortunately, Pittsburgh’s campaign came to an abrupt conclusion in the AFC Wildcard Playoffs against the Cleveland Browns. Apparently, some within the city believe that Watt was frustrated by the loss.
How so? At least, one media personality claims that the potential NFL Defensive Player of the Year skipped his exit interview with the Steelers’ brass.

“Would love to hear who Mark’s sources are. They certainly can’t be myself, Coach T, Kevin Colbert or Coach Butler,” Watt wrote in response to the claims. “All of whom I met with during exit interviews, prior to packing my own things after a hard fought season trying to give everything I have for the city of Pittsburgh.”
For his part, Mark Madden of 105.9 The X in Pittsburgh doubled down on his claims via social media.
“To repeat, I absolutely stand by my story. T.J. Watt skipped his exit interview, regardless of what he says now,” Madden noted in multiple tweets. “Just double-checked w/my source. Says story is 100% true…People deny true stories all the time, especially ones that don’t flatter them. 100% true.”
This could easily be resolved by the Pittsburgh Steelers releasing a statement, either confirming or denying the report. Whether that happens moving forward remains to be seen.
What we do know is that J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans had his own response on social media.
We’re not 100% sure what’s going on here. However, it wouldn’t be a week in the NFL without some drama.
