The Pittsburgh Steelers have been making news a lot this offseason. There have been reports going around that Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin is a big admirer of Chicago Bears quarterback, Justin Fields. This development has caused the odds to shift in favor of the Steelers in their bid to acquire Fields via a trade.

The Bears have secured the top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and there are strong indications that they will select Caleb Williams, the highly-touted quarterback from USC. Since the Bears are likely to draft Williams, it is clear that the team will trade their current quarterback, Fields. Some Steelers fans are hopeful that this could pave the way for Fields to make his way to Pittsburgh.

Steelers' Legend Terry Bradshaw Offers His Thoughts On Pittsburgh Trading For Justin Fields

The Steelers' legendary quarterback, Terry Bradshaw joined The Rich Eisen Show while on vacation. During his appearance, he shared his strong opinion that the Steelers don’t need Fields, but he's worried they could make a massive mistake.

“They’re going to beat [Kenny] Pickett up and they’re going to want to trade for Fields in Chicago. I say that’s a huge mistake. You don’t need Fields. Stay with what you have. Just build him up.”

Bradshaw has expressed his belief that the Steelers trading for Fields would not be a wise decision. According to Bradshaw, the Steelers already have their franchise quarterback on the roster. He thinks that the Steelers need to focus on improving the talent and protection around their current quarterback, Kenny Pickett.

“Get him another receiver. Get him another explosive tight end. Give him another tackle. Get him a guard. Have the ability to protect him and then give him guys on the outside. This is a passing league now. Give him people out there that can run and catch the football and that are smart. He’s fine. That’s their guy.”

Some would argue that the Steelers already have plenty of talent, but drafting a center would help improve the offensive line. Outside of that, Bradshaw’s idea of getting Pickett more talent at the skill positions has already transpired.

Bradshaw, a legendary figure in NFL history, rose to prominence as the quarterback for the Steelers in the 1970s. During his illustrious career, Bradshaw led the Steelers to four Super Bowl victories, earning him a place among the NFL's greatest quarterbacks. Undoubtedly, Bradshaw stands as one of the most revered figures in Steelers history, cementing his legacy not only as a titan within the franchise, but also as a legend of the sport itself, earning recognition as one of the greatest football players to have ever graced the gridiron.

Known for his strong arm and leadership on the field, Bradshaw became a cultural icon, transcending the sport of football. Post-retirement, he seamlessly transitioned into a successful career as a sports analyst and television personality.

Bradshaw's charm and wit made him a beloved figure on various TV shows, including his long-standing role as a co-host on Fox NFL Sunday. Beyond football and television, Bradshaw has also pursued ventures in music, acting, and business, showcasing his versatility and enduring appeal.

His endorsement has generated a lot of buzz among Steelers fans who are hoping that Pickett will be the answer to their quarterback woes. The fans are eagerly waiting to see if Pickett can live up to the high expectations set by the legendary Bradshaw and lead the Steelers to glory. With the roster getting older and the window closing, the time is now for the Steelers to regain glory.

If the Steelers were to make such a bold move and trade for Fields, it would undoubtedly shake up the NFL landscape, igniting excitement and speculation among fans and pundits alike. The potential impact of such a trade could redefine the Steelers' future and shape the league's quarterback dynamics for years to come.
