Steelers to interview ESPN analyst Louis Riddick for GM position

The Pittsburgh Steelers have already interviewed multiple candidates for their vacant general manager position. According to reports Tuesday morning, there will be at least one more name added to the mix.

Riddick was selected in the ninth round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers but didn't suit up for the team in any regular-season games. The defensive back then played in 94 career regular-season games, making eight starts, from 1992 to 1998 with three different teams.

Riddick made a career-high 74 tackles with the Atlanta Falcons in 1992 before playing for the Cleveland Browns over the next three years, making 18 tackles in 47 contests. While he didn't record any interceptions in his regular-season career, Riddick made one pick in the 1994 playoffs with the Browns.

The now-52-year-old then returned to the Falcons for the 1996 campaign, before concluding his playing days with one season with the then-Oakland Raiders in 1998.

Following his career on the gridiron, Riddick served as a pro scout for Washington from 2001 to 2004, before being promoted to their director of pro personnel from 2005 to 2007. Riddick was a pro scout for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008, their assistant director of pro personnel in 2009 and  their director of pro personnel from 2010 to 2013.

Riddick became an announcer for ESPN's "Monday Night Football" in 2020.
