Steelers top free agents all share similar trait
The Steelers have been busier than usual throughout free agency and general manager Omar Khan seems to have a type of player he has been wanting to sign this offseason.
The addition of veteran leaders has been a clear focus for Khan. Cornerback Patrick Peterson and inside linebackers Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts were all captains for their former teams before coming to Pittsburgh.
Offensive guard Isaac Seumalo would have also likely been a team captain on almost every other team in the league, but he played with long-time team captains Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson next to him on the Eagles' offensive line.
The Steelers roster is in a critical spot in a very competitive AFC North. Pittsburgh has a lot of young and talented players on both sides of the ball and the team is certainly hoping to continue building a winning culture with the veteran leaders it has added.
The addition of Peterson has already drawn several comparisons to when the Steelers signed CB Joe Haden in 2017. If Peterson and the other newest members of the Steelers can bring what Haden did, Pittsburgh will be heading in a direction that fans should be very excited for.
