Former Carolina Panthers’ wide receiver Steve Smith had some harsh comments directed towards Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield, who the Panthers got this season in a trade with the Cleveland Browns, has been a disaster for the team.

After his horrible play on Sunday, Smith couldn’t keep silent over the veteran quarterback.

So what is he saying about Mayfield, and does he make any good points with his comments?

Smith Calls Mayfield A “Three-Legged Donkey”

With Mayfield refusing to take the blame for his mistakes, it sent Smith into a rant over the quarterback from his former team.

What Smith doesn’t like is how the quarterback makes preparation all about him, but mistakes all about the team.

For Smith, he had a difficult time holding back his anger towards Mayfield.

The reason behind this is that he knows the game of football is a team sport.

You can’t praise yourself for the good, but drag teammates down during the failures, which Mayfield is doing.

While some mistakes can be on the team, most of the mistakes by the signal caller come from him.

During his game against the Baltimore Ravens, the Panthers had plenty of chances to pull off an upset.

However, two interceptions by Mayfield ended drives where the Panthers were closing in on scoring.

While his mistakes in the Ravens game hurt his team, it’s been a common theme for him this season.

In seven games, he’s thrown for 1,313 yards, six touchdowns, and six interceptions.

He’s also missing open receivers, causing his completion percentage to drop to 57.8% this season.

So Smith has every right to call out the Panthers quarterback, who’s blaming everyone except himself.
