Preseason is all about storylines, and for Seattle Seahawks receiver Easop Winston Jr. has been one to watch. While all eyes have been firmly placed on Jake Bobo, Winston Jr. has quietly gone about his business.

In Seattle's three preseason games, Winston Jr. has shown flashes of his talent. In Saturday's preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers, he only fortified the thoughts on him by showing he can play.

Quarterback Drew Lock hit Winston Jr. for a 30-yard completion in the fourth quarter, as the receiver took his total for the game to 74 yards on three receptions.

But what does Lock think of Winston Jr. as the roster cuts approach?

“Yeah, he’s a sure-handed guy," Lock said. "Ever since he got here in the middle of the year last year. I’ve had a lot of reps with him on scout team in the previous years. He and Cade (Johnson) both. They are just two reliable guys that I’ve gotten a lot of work with over this past year. He’s a shifty dude. He can go make plays when he needs to.”

Every preseason there are hard luck stories but also feel-good ones, and it looks as if Seattle will have two good luck situations with Bobo and Winston Jr. Of course, we never really know how the coaches are going to evaluate individual players, but in Winston Jr.'s case, he has done all that has been required of him.

For coach Pete Carroll, he was glad that Winston Jr. was able to put together a good game vs. the Packers.

“He has great hands," Carroll said. "He catches the heck out of the football all the time, so there is nothing new there, but he came through. You still have to do that in the game. I’m really glad that he got the opportunity to show that and put it on film.”

Winston Jr.'s film will no doubt make for good viewing, but will it be enough for him to secure a spot on Seattle's final roster? Teams are finishing cuts on Tuesday, and whether or not Winston Jr. makes it is unknown.

But he has given himself every chance to warrant a place on Shane Waldron's offense.
