Injuries have been piling up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the last couple of weeks. That's led to at least one member of the roster being forced to go on Injured Reserve.

According to the Buccaneers, the team placed rookie wide receiver Rakim Jarrett on IR on Wednesday. The move derails a promising first season with the franchise where he appeared in 10 games while totaling four catches for 60 yards, one rushing attempt and one special teams tackle.

Jarrett is coming off his best performance at the NFL level against the San Francisco 49ers. He caught one of two targets for 41 yards which ended up being the longest play on offense by the Buccaneers in the defeat. The play helped set up one of the team's two scoring drives. Now, he'll be forced to miss at least the next four weeks while dealing with a quadriceps injury.

Depending on the severity of the ailment, it's possible that his rookie season is over. That will be determined by his recovery in the next couple of weeks with the Buccaneers still having seven regular season games remaining.

Tampa Bay is also grappling with injuries to linebacker Lavonte David, linebacker Devin White, and cornerback Jamel Dean. It's still unclear if they'll be available for the game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Jarrett signed with the Buccaneers in May as an undrafted free agent. He overcame the odds to make the team with a strong showing in practice and in the preseason. Jarrett caught seven passes for 132 yards to lead the team in receiving in the preseason.
