The Detroit Lions will not have the services of left tackle Taylor Decker for the seventh consecutive week.

Speaking at his Friday media session, head coach Dan Campbell explained that Decker had a setback last week with the finger injury that required surgery.

As a result, Decker will not suit up and play against the Los Angeles Rams this weekend at SoFi Stadium.

"He's he's doing okay," Campbell said. "The fact of the matter is he had a little bit of a setback last week. We kind of talked about the knuckle and everything. ... I know he wants to play, man. I talked to him yesterday. He's dying to play. We got to get through it and let this thing -- just get the feeling right. That's the bottom line."

Notes

  • Da'Shawn Hand will get some team reps at practice, but it appears that Kevin Strong is closer to returning at this point in the process. Hand returned to practice this week after suffering a groin injury prior to the start of the season.
  • Ifeatu Melifonwu will not return before the bye week, but Campbell expressed that he is hopeful to have the rookie return before the end of season.
