TE George Kittle to sign massive extension with 49ers on Friday?
According to Sports Illustrated's Grant Cohn , San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle might be on the verge of signing a massive contract extension with the club. Kittle, however, would have social media users believing differently on Wednesday afternoon.
Cohn reported that the 26-year-old will put pen to paper on a six-year extension this Friday that includes $47.4 million in guaranteed money and could be worth up to $94.8 million total ($15.8 million per season).
Cohn added that the two-time Pro Bowl tight end named 2019 First-Team All-Pro will receive a $25 million signing bonus and be signed through the 2026 season.

Meanwhile, NFL insider Michael Silver tweeted Kittle is working toward signing the most lucrative deal ever awarded to a tight end:
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area is reporting the two sides haven't yet agreed to terms on the extension but are making “healthier progress” in negotiations.
Kittle's current contract runs through the 2020 campaign.
In three seasons with the 49ers, Kittle tallied 216 catches, 2,945 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns.
