Now that Houston Texans ' center Scott Quessenberry is  out with an ACL and MCL tear , coach DeMeco Ryans and company are going to need some more offensive line depth.

Luckily, they addressed that issue Sunday, adding a new face to the line from the Washington Commanders via waiver claims.

Keaton Sutherland, a four-year NFL veteran, should help fill the depth issue at the position throughout training camp.

Since being drafted in 2019, Sutherland has made as many team changes as he's played career games, with the Texans being the sixth change of scenery the 26-year-old has gone through over the course of his career. He started with Cincinnati before moving to Miami, back to Cincinnati, to San Francisco, Washington and finally Houston.

Sutherland played four games (one with Bengals, three with Dolphins) during the 2019 season, and one each with the Bengals in 2020 and 2021. However, he did not make an appearance with the Commanders in 2022.

Sutherland is a Texas A&M graduate, having played three seasons in College Station before declaring for the NFL Draft.

Now that they're facing a shortage after Quessenberry's unfortunate injury - not to mention Tytus Howard’s hand problems which has him in a cast on Monday - they'll need to make sure to do so to avoid losing any other lineman. And if they're successful, both Dameon Pierce and C.J. Stroud would be more than thrilled.
