Texans' Deshaun Watson has 'no restrictions' amid sexual assault investigations

Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson is now facing 22 lawsuits alleging acts of sexual assault and misconduct and 10 criminal complaints, two of which were reportedly filed by women not suing the 25-year-old signal-caller.

Watson reportedly wishes to be traded but showed up for training camp to avoid being fined, and the NFL explained in a statement shared by Grant Gordon of the league's website on Tuesday that the quarterback is currently eligible to participate in official football-related activities.

"The NFL’s review of the serious allegations against Deshaun Watson remains ongoing and active," the league said. "We are working cooperatively with the Houston Police Department and ensuring that the NFL's inquiry does not interfere with their investigation.

"As we continue to gather additional information and monitor law-enforcement developments, we will make appropriate decisions consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Personal Conduct Policy.

"At this time, there are no restrictions on Watson's participation in club activities."

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported Monday that Watson hadn't yet heard if he would be placed on paid leave early into training camp. The Texans reportedly are willing to listen to trade offers for Watson, but nothing in the league's latest update on the matter guarantees he won't be on the commissioner's exempt list before Week 1 of the regular season in September.
