Texans QB Deshaun Watson expected to report to training camp, still wants to be traded

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is expected to report to training camp Sunday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. However, the three-time Pro Bowler still wants to be traded before the 2021 campaign begins.

The news comes after ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said Sunday on SportsCenter (h/t Bleacher Report) that a source close to Watson believes a trade will happen "sooner or later," provided his legal situation is resolved. The 25-year-old is facing 22 civil lawsuits that allege sexual misconduct.

Watson's trade request was made public months ago, and while the Texans are hesitant to move the Clemson product, it seems as though they're preparing for a future without him.

With the possibility Watson could be moved before the 2021 season begins, the Texans have made sure to add some depth at quarterback this summer. Houston signed Tyrod Taylor and Jeff Driskel and also selected Stanford's Davis Mills in the third round of this year's draft.

It was reported last month that Watson's preferred destination is the Denver Broncos. He also reportedly would be fine with a move to either the Miami Dolphins or New York Jets.

However, the Jets drafted BYU's Zach Wilson second overall in this year's draft as their quarterback of the future. So, it's unclear if New York would still consider adding Watson.
