Texans reportedly keeping Deshaun Watson away from rest of team

Deshaun Watson's situation with the Houston Texans continues to get more awkward.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports (h/t Pro Football Talk), the Texans are keeping the three-time Pro Bowler away from other players. He's still working out at the facility but is separated from the rest of the team.

Watson has reiterated throughout the offseason that he wants to be traded, and the Texans want to deal him. However, the club's asking price is hefty, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, who reports Houston is looking for a six-piece package including players and draft picks in exchange for the veteran.

Schefter added no team is interested in meeting Houston's asking price for Watson unless conditions are attached to draft picks included in a deal due to the quarterback's legal issues.

Although Watson is still with the Texans, he could sit out the entire season if he's not traded. Houston intends to start Tyrod Taylor this year unless, of course, it receives a better quarterback in a potential Watson deal.

Yahoo Sports' senior NFL reporter Charles Robinson reported last month that the Miami Dolphins were the front-runner for Watson, but the franchise appears committed to Tua Tagovailoa. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores also said last month his team wants players with "high character" when addressing rumors about the club's interest in Watson.

Watson led the NFL in passing last season with 4,823 yards and threw 33 touchdown passes against seven interceptions. He signed a four-year, $156 million extension last September and will make $10.5 million in salary in 2021 even if he does not play.
