Less than halfway through the first quarter of their critical AFC South matchup, the Houston Texans may have already suffered a major loss vs. the Tennessee Titans.

On their first defensive drive of the game, starting safety and Texans captain Jimmie Ward was injured while attempting to make a stop on a pass across the middle, and colliding with linebacker Denzel Perryman.

Ward was down on the field with what appeared to be an upper-body injury of some kind but was able to get off of the field under his own power.

Ward has had some issues on the injury front since arriving in Houston this season, playing in just eight of the Texans' previous 13 games before today.

Despite missing that time, however, Ward still sits eighth on the team in tackles, with 47, and had a critical game-sealing interception vs. the Broncos earlier this month.

Ward is questionable to return and has been replaced in the lineup by the newly acquired Adrian Amos.
