The Houston Texans have agreed to terms with defensive back Mike Ford, as first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Ford and the Texans have agreed to the two-year deal worth $4.5 million.

The acquisition of Ford marked the third defensive back the Texans added on Monday. Houston added former first-round cornerback Jeff Okudah from the Atlanta Falcons

Okudah marks the second major outside signing by the Texans since the start of the legal tampering period. Houston also agreed to terms with former Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Denico Autry on a two-year, $10 million deal. The Texans reunited Lonnie Johnson Jr. for their first signing of free agency.

Ford is coming off his lone season with the Cleveland Browns. He played 16 games, recording 28 tackles and two pass deflections. A majority of his snaps came on special teams, where he appeared in 74 percent of the snaps.

Ford began his career with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agency in 2018. After two seasons, Ford joined the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons for one year, respectively.

The start of free agency has been subpar for Houston, who watched as several prominent players fell off the broad. Houston missed out on the chance to land to land Saquon Barkley , Josh Jacobs and Christian Wilkins. They also failed to re-sign Jonathan Greenard, Blake Cashman and Devin Singletary.

With Cashman off to the Minnesota Vikings, the Texans have turned their attention former Baltimore Ravens star Patick Queen, though everything will come down to money, per ESPN.
