Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell appeared to be well on his way to a 1,000-yard campaign during his rookie season in 2023, but a broken leg ending things prematurely.

The good news is that Dell says he is making great progress in his recovery.

“It’s been going great,” Dell said, via Drew Dougherty of the Texans’ official team website. “I’ve been hitting the road full speed. Great recovery.”

Dell added that Houston’s training staff has done a fine job of getting him on track.

“I’m giving all the props to our training staff and our strength staff,” Dell said. “They’ve been getting me on the right road and I feel like I’m back and ready. I’m waiting on the lights to shine again and just to go out there as a team and go complete the mission.”

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Houston, was selected by the Texans in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

He played 11 games before going down with the injury this past year, hauling in 47 receptions for 709 yards and seven touchdowns.

Dell racked up three 100-yard performances during that span, with his best outing coming in a Week 11 win over the Arizona Cardinals in which he logged eight catches for 149 yards and a score.

Along with Nico Collins, Dell is one-half of one of the league’s most impressive young receiver duos, and with C.J. Stroud throwing them the football, Houston’s offense looks downright frightening heading into next season.

Hopefully, Dell can be 100 percent by September.

The Texans won 10 games and captured a surprising NFC South division title this past year. They defeated the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs before ultimately falling to the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round.
