The long wait is nearing an end.

The Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs are ironing out the final details on a trade that will send star cornerback L'Jarius Sneed to Indianapolis.

Trade Details

The Colts send their 2024 3rd-round pick (pick 82) and an additional pick in 2025 to the Chiefs for CB L'Jarius Sneed

The Colts have coveted Sneed from the very beginning this offseason. I've been told they planned to target him aggressively on the free agency market, and him receiving the franchise tag did not cause them to waver. While many believed the Chiefs wanted a 2024 second-round pick in return, I'm told no team was willing to include their 2024 second-rounder in negotiations due to the large contract that will follow the trade.

The need at CB heading into this offseason was evident. While GM Chris Ballard denied that the addition needed to be a veteran at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, this move was always Plan A for Indianapolis.

The trade won't be finalized till both teams submit everything necessary to the league office, and the Colts also have the right to require a physical if they so choose. This trade will also come with a new contract for Sneed, and when we learn those details, we will update you accordingly.
