The Dallas Cowboys are in "win now" mode and have made several signings that represent good business. After securing several starters from last season that now includes Dante Fowler Jr., the Cowboys have added some real weapons on both sides of the ball.

Stephon Gilmore and Brandin Cooks were added via trade while running back Ronald Jones was signed to a one-year deal, with running back Rico Dowdle also signing back to The Star. Along with New York Jets/Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Chuma Edoga, all of the guys involved in the Tuesday flurry have cost Dallas next to nothing, and all bring a wealth of experience.

So why not return to that well and bring back T.Y. Hilton?

Signed off the couch halfway through last year, Hilton could be another cheap but positive signing for the Cowboys.

With the depth chart reading CeeDee Lamb, Cooks, and then Michael Gallup, adding Hilton, who showed last season he still has plenty to offer (see the third-and-30 against the Philadelphia Eagles), would be a good get.

Kavontae Turpin and Jalen Tolbert, 2022 rookies, are still getting used to the rigors of NFL football. Having an experienced group of receivers to learn from could prove pivotal in the duo's development.

Hilton also knows the system, knows coach Mike McCarthy and knows QB Dak Prescott. So, it could be a simple and possibly seamless fit for the former Indianapolis Colts star - nicknamed "The Ghost'' - to pick up where he left off last year.

Last season, Hilton caught seven of his 10 targets for 121 yards as he sped his way back into NFL football. His average of 17.3 yards per reception by far topped the team (Noah Brown, now with the Texans, was second with 12.9 yards per reception).

Dallas has made several smart signings on the "cheap''; adding a veteran receiver like "The Ghost'' seems a smart way to continue that trend.
