SANTA CLARA -- Here's who stood out Day 10 of 49ers training camp 2023.

THE GOOD

1. FS Tashaun Gipson.

Intercepted Brock Purdy and returned the pass for a touchdown for the third time in camp. Gipson also broke up another pass from Purdy that was intended for George Kittle -- Purdy had pressure in his face, threw a lazy pass off his back foot and nearly got picked. Gipson has been reading Purdy's mail every day.

2. DE Austin Bryant.

Recorded four sacks playing with the second-string defense during 11-on-11 team drills. He beat backup right tackle Matt Pryor three times and backup left tackle Leroy Watson once. Bryant has been injured for most of camp, but he's healthy now and looks much more explosive than Drake Jackson, Clelin Ferrell and Taco Charlton.

3. LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles.

Intercepted a pass over the middle from Trey Lance that didn't count because he had gotten sacked already, then a few plays later he leaped and nearly intercepted a pass from Sam Darnold but dropped it.

4. NCB Qwuantrezz Knight.

Broke up a pass in the end zone that was intended for Tay Martin during 1 on 1s in the red zone. Martin ran a fade to the back left pylon, Knight ran stride for stride with him and broke up the pass. Later during 11-on-11s, Knight exploded into the backfield to tackle running back Khalan Laborn for a two-yard loss.

5. WR Jauan Jennings.

Beat Charvarius Ward with a quick out route in the end zone for a touchdown catch, left practice with a calf cramp then returned to finish the session. Tough guy. Good route runner.

6. WR Isaiah Winstead.

Won all of his reps during 1 on 1s and absolutely destroyed Ambry Thomas with a slant route near the goal line. Made Thomas break the wrong direction. Winstead is an outstanding route runner, similar to Jennings.

THE NOT SO GOOD

1. CB Charvarius Ward.

Gave up two touchdown catches during 1 on 1s in the red zone -- one to Danny Gray and one to Dazz Newsome. Then Ward gave up two more touchdown catches during 11 on 11s in the red zone -- one to Jennings and one to Willie Snead. Ward rarely practices, and when he does he typically goes through the motions. Today he barely showed up.

2. CB D'Shawn Jamison.

Committed not one but two defensive pass interference penalties during 1 on 1s. Needs to understand he's an undrafted free agent rookie who won't get away with lots of contact in real games.

3. WR Brandon Aiyuk.

Took the day off for the first time this offseason. How dare he?
