The Detroit Lions have a big game on Sunday. One of the biggest in franchise history. In my opinion, it is the biggest game in franchise history. The Lions made their usual roster moves on Saturday and for the second time this year, a big name was missing.

Bruce Irvin will not be elevated for Sunday's game against the Vikings. There's no word on what that means right now. He did practice all week long and doesn't have any injury that we're aware of at this time. Since he has just one elevation left, the Lions might be looking to save that for the Cowboys. The other thing is that the Lions only get two elevations a week. The Lions have also not yet made Tyson Alualu active for a game since signing him two weeks ago.

Here's the moves that the Lions did make this week:

Elevated Michael Badgley from practice squad

Makes a ton of sense. He kicked for the Lions against the Broncos and was spot on. The Lions waived Riley Patterson early in the week to make a roster spot for Hendon Hooker. The Lions don't need to be in a hurry to make a spot for Badgley. But they will need to start thinking about that very soon as he'll have just one more elevation left after this game.

Elevated Anthony Firkser from practice squad

The Lions are down a tight end with Brock Wright out. Firkser will play his first game with the Lions in relief. Firsker is an interesting player that I thought had a chance to play a bigger role on this team after the Lions signed him in October. I even thought he had a chance to push Wright off the roster due to being a better blocker. We'll see how he does Sunday.

The thing I don't get here is that they have James Mitchell on the team and they've just barely used him. This could have been a time for him to see some action instead of bringing up another tight end.
