The next big move for each team in AFC North

It seems every team in the AFC North got better this offseason, but there's still work to do. Here's one move each team should make before the start of the 2023 season.

Baltimore Ravens

Bring back CB Marcus Peters: Peters is one of the best remaining free agents and might be the best at his position. The Ravens signed former Raider CB Rock Ya-Sin earlier this month, but they are thin at the position. Peters would be an instant upgrade at CB3 with Brandon Stephens, Trayvon Mullen, rookie Kyu Blu Kelly and Jayln Armour-Davis following.

Peters wouldn't need any time to acclimate to the team after spending the past three seasons in Baltimore. He is 30 but has 81 solo tackles, eight interceptions, 25 passes defensed and six forced fumbles as a Raven.

Cincinnati Bengals

Add a veteran offensive tackle: There isn't a ton of offensive line talent remaining in free agency, but the Bengals should still add a tackle with starting experience. Right tackle remains the biggest question on the roster after La'el Collins suffered a torn ACL and MCL late last season.

Offensive tackle Jonah Williams would have been the easy fix as he has experience at right tackle for Cincinnati, but he requested a trade after the team signed former Chiefs star Orlando Brown Jr. Williams may have to swallow his pride and return if he doesn't have the suitors many thought he would.

Cleveland Browns

Sign another running back: The Browns need depth at running back behind Nick Chubb as Jerome Ford, who had just eight rushes for 12 yards in 2022, is the backup.

The Akron Beacon Journal reported in April that the Browns have not shut the door on re-signing Kareem Hunt. A reunion with Hunt would be low risk, high reward on a cheap, one-year deal. Former Cowboy Ezekiel Elliott could also be an option.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Extend LB Alex Highsmith: The Steelers created a lot of cap space recently with the release of CB Ahkello Witherspoon and extension of QB Mitch Trubisky. With nearly $10 million in added funds, another big move is expected for Pittsburgh.

Highsmith, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal, deserves a new deal after having the sixth-most sacks (14.5) and most forced fumbles (five) in the NFL in 2022. The 25-year-old's projected value is a four-year, $55.63 million contract, per Spotrac.
