This has been up to the point of an exciting college football season, teams that have not been good for a while are making historic runs. While dominant teams are showing cracks in their armor. Let’s dive into The Red Beard and his college football picks in week 8. I have a small slate of five games this weekend.

The Red Beard: College Football Picks Week 8

Clemson -13.5 vs Syracuse

Clemson has been on fire this season, and so have the Orangemen of Syracuse, this week I have a number slightly larger than that of 13.5 for this game.

I have this game at 17, closer to 18, which means as soon as I saw this game under two touchdowns I immediately jumped all over it.

Give me Clemson winning 41-23.

Ole Miss ML vs LSU

LSU has been bad coaching decisions away from being undefeated. Talent wise these teams are just about equal, coaching wise however I will give Ole Miss the edge this weekend.

The Tigers have shown on multiple occasions this season they will make the wrong decision as far as field position and momentum going.

Give me the Ole Miss Rebels taking advantage of short fields and winning outright, 37-31.

Texas vs Oklahoma St Under 61

Oklahoma State has been electrifying thus far, yet, Texas has maybe the best defense in the nation. Holding teams to under 20 almost every game this season to this point.

I see Oklahoma State is also struggling with some key players on offense having injuries and not scoring over 20 as well.

Give me Texas winning this game in Texas football fashion, 23-16.

UCLA +6 vs Oregon

This is strictly a numbers play, both of these teams will come into the game looking to shoot it out. In high-scoring games that get into to 70s, they are usually close ones.

I will take the 6 points on UCLA in this game thinking it will be a one-possession game on either end.

Give me Oregon pulling out a close one 47-45.

TCU -3.5 vs Kansas State

Kansas State has shown signs this season of struggling in some games, offensively. That is highlighted by only scoring 10 points against Tulane earlier in the season.

TCU on the other hand has been an electric offense and a defense on a mission this season.

I do not see this game being close at all. Yes, the 3 and a hook makes me nervous at first glance, yet, I see TCU winning this game by 17+. Give me TCU 38-13.

Overview: The Red Beard: College Football Picks Week 8

  • Clemson -13.5 vs Syracuse
  • Ole Miss ML vs LSU
  • Texas vs Oklahoma State Under 61
  • UCLA +6 vs Oregon
  • TCU -3.5 vs Kansas St
