This stat reveals the greatness of Andy Reid, Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have an AFC-best 9-2 record and a 26-game winning streak in November and December. But the Chiefs under head coach Andy Reid can brag about an even more impressive stat.

Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams was the Chiefs' fifth straight -- the 10th straight season Kansas City has had a five-game winning streak.

Reid, who took over as Kansas City head coach in 2013, has led the Chiefs to the playoffs in nine of his 10 seasons. The Chiefs are almost guaranteed another trip back to the postseason and seem a lock to win another division title. That's no surprise when you are able to win five games in a row so consistently.

To put Kansas City's five-game winning streaks into perspective, dynasties such as the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and New England Patriots never had such consistency. The Patriots won five or more games in a row from 2014-19. The 49ers did so from 1989-95 and the Cowboys from 1991-94.

Each of those teams won multiple Super Bowls during their spans of dominance. Kansas City's lone Super Bowl title under Reid came during the 2019 season.

But what the Chiefs have done since Reid took over is notable. As long as he is on the sidelines and Patrick Mahomes is QB, Kansas City can book more five-game winning streaks down the line.
