This team is the new betting favorite to win the Super Bowl
Sure, the 2023 NFL season is only one week old. But that doesn't stop sportsbooks across the country from deciding who they think will win the Super Bowl next February. And after a fun-filled Sunday to open up the new campaign, they have already changed their tune about who the favorite is to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Naturally, the Kansas City Chiefs were the preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl after they did so last season, coming from behind to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in thrilling fashion 38-35. But after opening up Week 1 with a loss to the Detroit Lions, there is a new favorite to win at the end of the season.
Following a very convincing win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers are the new favorites at DraftKings to win the Super Bowl at 13-2 odds. The Niners were dominant in Week 1 behind impressive performances from Brock Purdy and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, while the defense stymied Kenny Pickett and held Pittsburgh to a single touchdown in the 30-7 season-opening win.
But don't count the Chiefs out just yet. DK still has them favored at 7-1 to repeat last year's Super Bowl success. The Eagles are also listed at 7-1, while the Buffalo Bills -- who don't play until Monday night -- are listed at 9-1.
The Dallas Cowboys are listed at 11-1 after shutting out the New York Giants 40-0 on Sunday, and the Cincinnati Bengals round out the favorites at 14-1 despite losing to the Cleveland Browns 24-3 in Week 1.
