Thousands of fans show up at airport to congratulate Bills on AFC East title

The Bills touched down in Buffalo at 1:30 a.m. ET on Sunday after blowing out the Denver Broncos 48-19 to win their first AFC East division title since 1995. They were greeted by more than airport personnel.

Thousands of Bills fans showed up to congratulate the team on its accomplishment, braving the cold and the pandemic. Josh Allen described it as "wild."

Allen was fantastic against the Broncos, throwing for 359 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 33 yards and an additional two scores.

While it was an unbelievable sight for the Bills and their fans, it probably wasn't the best idea for fans to crowd the airport like they did amid the coronavirus pandemic.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said earlier in the week that he was considering allowing the Bills to host fans, in a limited capacity, during the playoffs. However, a final decision hasn't been made on the matter, and Sunday morning's crowd might have soured Cuomo's interest in allowing fans to attend games.
