Three-time Patriots Super Bowl champion WR David Patten dead at 47

Former New England Patriots wide receiver David Patten reportedly died at the age of 47. Richard Seymour, a former teammate of Patten, led the tribute to him on Twitter Friday morning.

It's unclear how Patten died. However, George Moore Jr., who says he is Patten's cousin, said the three-time Super Bowl champion died in a motorcycle accident

Patten will always be remembered as the receiver who caught the Patriots' only offensive touchdown in their first Super Bowl victory with Tom Brady at quarterback in 2001.

In addition to the Patriots, Patten also played for the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Washington Football Team and Cleveland Browns. He finished his 12-year career with 324 catches for 4,715 yards and 24 touchdowns.
