The Tennessee Titans are due an update regarding their camp status. Teams around the league have the first week of camp under their belt. There have been some concerns with key players on the Titans squad but after this week an aura of confidence has descended upon Nashville. The Titans also added some additions to the roster that were needed in specific units. Here are some important highlights from week one:

Treylon Burks Excelling at Camp

The rookie first round pick was selected to make an immediate impact in the Titans wide receiver room. I recently wrote an article regarding Treylon’s asthma condition and how it is manageable for athletes of his caliber.  The assessment was correct. Burks showed up to camp a few pounds lighter with plenty of enthusiasm and ability. Check out this catch from Ryan Tannehill. Coaches and fellow players are praising Burks work ethic and commitment to learning the playbook. Burks is looking like the competitor he was praised for being.

Titans Add Depth

The Titans picked up two players this week and added much needed depth to certain units. Shakur Brown, a defensive back for the USFL Pittsburgh Maulers, and former Georgia Bulldog receiver Terry Godwin. Godwin was a seventh-round pick for the Carolina Panthers in 2019 and also played a few years with Jacksonville and Chicago. Brown finished last season with the Maulers totaling 39 solo tackles. He was someone to keep an eye on while at Michigan State.

Camp Injury Update

Cornerback Elijah Molden suffered an apparent leg injury that sidelined him for the rest of the week. Roger McCreary is stepping up. After suffering an ACL tear last season, Robert Woods is playing full contact with no brace and functioning quite well. The rest of the Titans depth chart is relatively healthy. This is thankful news after using an NFL record total of 91 different players last year.

These are a few updates from the Titans camp. The NFL season in nearing rapidly, so these positive outlooks and changes are essential to building the best possible Titans team. The top spot in the AFC is open and Tennessee’s expectations are to rise and recapture the number one seed. Practices are intense, the heat is worse, and some tempers are flaring. The essence of football is permeating throughout Nashville.
