The Tennessee Titans have had a busy offseason, and one of their biggest moves was swinging a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.

Recently, new Titans head coach Brian Callahan was asked about Sneed, and he raved about the new addition to his secondary.

“He’s such a fantastic player,” Callahan said, via the Titans’ official X account. “And you pair him with Chido [Chidobe Awuzie], two guys that are really physical, really aggressive, I think they change the whole demeanor of what you ask in the secondary. … I’ve played against L’Jarius enough times to have an immense amount of respect for how he goes about his business.”

Prior to being named head coach of the Titans earlier this offseason, Callahan had spent the previous five seasons as the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive coordinator, so he certainly saw quite a bit of Sneed during all of the Bengals’ meetings with the Chiefs.

Sneed is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he played 16 games and registered 78 tackles, a couple of interceptions, a fumble recovery and 14 passes defended. He did not allow a single touchdown.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Louisiana Tech, was selected by Kansas City in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Sneed played in just nine games during his rookie campaign due to injuries, but the following year, he appeared in 15 contests and recorded 76 tackles, a sack, a pair of picks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and eight passes defended.

The Minden, La. native then enjoyed a breakout season in 2022, racking up 108 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and 11 passes defended.

We’ll see if L’Jarius Sneed can help transform a Tennessee defense that ranked in the bottom half of the league this past season.
