The Tennessee Titans have made a decision about their next head coach.

The Titans on Monday had Brian Callahan in for a second interview. They did not let him leave.

Tennessee is finalizing a deal to make Callahan their next head coach.

Callahan has served as the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive coordinator under Zac Taylor for the last five seasons.

The son of former Raiders and Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan, Brian has held coaching positions in the NFL since 2010. He worked with the Broncos from 2010-15 and then became a quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions in 2016.

He worked with the Lions for two seasons and was the Raiders’ quarterbacks coach in 2018 before being hired by the Bengals.

Callahan has worked with quarterbacks such as Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, Derek Carr and Joe Burrow.

Under Callahan, Cincinnati’s offense ranked seventh in the league in points in both 2021 and 2022, though they slipped to 16th this season.

Tennessee previously had Mike Vrabel as their head coach for the last six seasons. Vrabel is a defensive coach, and Tennessee decided to go with an offensive coach this time.
