Titans' Julio Jones: It's 'great' if defensive coordinators underestimate me

Tennessee Titans star wide receiver Julio Jones did not have the type of debut season with his current employer he likely envisioned after he earned seven Pro Bowl nods across his decade with the Atlanta Falcons. Jones was limited to 10 games due to a lingering hamstring injury and a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and he caught his one and only touchdown of the campaign in the Week 18 28-25 victory over the Houston Texans that clinched the AFC's No. 1 playoff seed for the Titans.

Jones and company are enjoying the postseason bye before learning their upcoming opponent, and the 32-year-old made it clear he's hoping he's become somewhat of a forgotten man in the eyes of those who will scheme against him later this month.

"I have been playing the game for so long," Jones explained, according to Jim Wyatt of the club's website. "I am here. Whatever the team needs me to do, I am willing to do, and I can do it. If defenses, defensive coordinators or whatever underestimate me, that's great. I love it, we'll take advantage of it.

"It was good being a part of the offense (in Houston), and moving forward, helping where I can help to help the team."

Along with his lone score, Jones enters the playoffs with 31 catches for 434 yards on the season. In eight career playoff games, to date, he's tallied 61 receptions for 834 yards and six touchdowns.

He'll be looking to bolster those stats at some point next weekend.
