Titans LT Taylor Lewan in concussion protocol, out vs. Chiefs

Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan was involved in a worrisome scene during this past Monday's 34-31 win over the Buffalo Bills when he was carted off the field in the second quarter after his head seemingly collided with an opponent on a run play.

Fans watching in person and at home were happy to see Lewan show a thumbs-up before he entered the tunnel via the cart, and head coach Mike Vrabel later made it known that the three-time Pro Bowl selection was in the concussion protocol.

According to Turron Davenport of ESPN, Lewan couldn't pass through the protocol as of Friday afternoon and, thus, has been ruled out of Sunday's matchup against the 3-3 Kansas City Chiefs.

Kendall Lamm replaced Lewan against Buffalo and received high praise for his work. It's believed Lamm will start in Lewan's place.

It was learned earlier in the day that the 4-2 Titans should have top wide receivers A.J. Brown and Julio Jones against Kansas City. Brown has been dealing with food poisoning and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday after he played Monday, while Jones reaggravated a hamstring issue versus the Bills.

"Everything is good," Brown told reporters. "I'll do whatever it takes to prepare — IVs, everything. I'll be fine."

Jones added: "I feel pretty good. "Was able to go out there and move around. I feel great. I'm excited about Sunday."
