Titans place first-round pick Isaiah Wilson on reserve/NFI list

The tumultuous rookie season of Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson appears to be over.

On Wednesday, the Titans placed Wilson on the NFL reserve/non-football illness list. According to Turron Davenport of ESPN, the first-round selection (pick No. 29) won't return to the Titans through at least Week 17 of the regular season.

"Today we placed Isaiah Wilson on the reserve non-football illness list," Titans general manager Jon Robinson explained in an official statement. "Currently, he is dealing with some personal issues, which will take some time for him to work through. We will continue to help him and support him, with the hope that he can ultimately re-join the team."

Wilson had spent a pair of stints on the reserve/COVID-19 list since the start of training camp and played one snap on special teams and three in his offense's victory formation before Wednesday's news. He was arrested in September for an alleged DUI and missed last Sunday's 41-35 home loss to the Cleveland Browns due to an unspecified violation of team rules

Jimmy Morris of Music City Miracles added "there has been plenty of chatter about other things going on" with Wilson following the team's announcement. One can only guess if Wilson will be with the Titans or in the NFL, in general, by next summer.
