Titans Pro Bowl WR A.J. Brown played through serious knee injury?

Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown made the first Pro Bowl squad of his career and recorded 70 receptions for 1,075 yards and 11 touchdowns in 14 regular-season games during the 2020 campaign.

It appears Brown accomplished all of that while dealing with a concerning knee injury.

As Grant Gordon noted for the NFL's official website, Brown explained during a live Instagram video session that he recently underwent surgery on both of his knees. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo later reported the procedures were "cleanups" and that Brown is expected to be good to go for the 2021 season:

"Nobody knew," Brown reportedly said. "They told me I was done for the year, like in Week 2. Told me I was done for the year in like Week 2. I played all year. I ended up making the Pro Bowl. Didn't know how I was gonna do it. I did it."

The second-year pro missed a pair of contests in September because of what was reported at the time to be a bone bruise in his knee. Per ESPN stats, he returned to face the Buffalo Bills on Oct. 13 and caught seven of nine targets for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Brown recorded six receptions for 83 yards and a score in Tennessee's postseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Jan. 10.

Just imagine what Brown could accomplish on two good knees over 16 weeks of action in his third season.
