Titans star Derrick Henry wants NFL to bring back throwback uniforms, helmets

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry thinks the new NFL rule proposal that would let running backs wear single-digit numbers is "cool." However, he wants to see the NFL do something else uniform-wise.

Henry called for a return to throwback uniforms, including throwback helmets, in a Twitter post on Friday:

The NFL banned throwback helmets in 2013, ruling that players must wear their regular helmets throughout the season. The league also ruled that the outside of the helmet could be modified only by removing or replacing decals.

The NFL has allowed throwback jerseys, but they don't look nearly as good without the matching helmets.

As for the single-digit numbers rule, Henry could opt to wear No. 2 beginning next season, which he wore at Alabama and during the preseason of his rookie year. The 27-year-old currently wears No. 22.
