Titans WR Adam Humphries placed on injured reserve

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Adam Humphries will miss at least another three games, if not the rest of the season.

The Titans confirmed on Tuesday that they've placed Humphries on injured reserve. The 27-year-old suffered a concussion during the 31-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Nov. 1 and missed the following four contests. He returned for this past Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns and recorded one catch for nine yards on four targets in the losing effort.

According to Turron Davenport of ESPN, Humphries' latest stint on IR is related to the previous head injury.

A league rule mandates that a player on IR must sit for a minimum of three games, meaning Tennessee won't have Humphries for upcoming matchups against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. The Titans close the regular season against the Houston Texans but could hold Humphries out of that game if its outcome doesn't affect their playoff seeding.

Humphries has played in seven games during his second campaign with the Titans and tallied 23 receptions for 228 yards and a pair of touchdowns. As noted by Spotrac, he is signed through 2022 but could be a salary-cap casualty during either of the next two offseason periods.
